Most scooters use a 3/8 inch diameter axle of various lengths. Some of the axles increase to 15/32 inch to match the wheel within the width of the wheel inside the bearings. But they usually attach to the frame using 3/8 diameter and spacers and washers provide the alignment with the chain or belt. Tensioners (adjusters) move the rear wheel forward or back to increase the tension on the belt or chain.
